My relationship and membership with the Soul Children of Chicago have been divine. This organization served as the divine training ground for my purpose and calling. The work ethic instilled in me by Walt Whitman has proven invaluable in every aspect of my life and ministry. The unwavering consistency, grit, and professionalism that permeated our collective experiences provided me with a comprehensive blueprint for effective execution. Becoming a member of The Gospel Soul Children of Chicago who evolved into The Soul Children of Chicago changed my trajectory of learning how to be an ambassador for Christ through my daily life. It provided me discipline for every aspect of my young and now adult life. I believe I was able to achieve all that I have accomplished because I was encapsulated by a large extended family (now known as One Soul) who supports each other through peaks and valley experiences. There is no other choir family that can compare to this one which extends from 6 years of age to 50 plus. WE ARE TRULY ONE!!
The Soul Children of Chicago profoundly impacted my life by teaching me invaluable lessons in discipline, teamwork, and recognizing talent—skills that have become foundational in my career, especially in event production. Under the guidance of Mr. Whitman, whose relentless pursuit of perfection became a model for excellence, I learned the importance of attention to detail and commitment to quality. His mentorship has shaped my professional journey, and to this day, I consider him one of my most significant influences, always striving to live up to the high standards he set for me.
